The Business Objects Shared Services group is a firm-wide business intelligence service that supplies the common infrastructure, software licensing and administration of a complete business intelligence platform based on the SAP/Business Objects tool suite.
As an Business Objects Administrator , you will provide high quality technology solutions in the Business Objects Shared Services environment. Business Objects Shared Service supplies the common infrastructure, software licenses and administration of a complete business intelligence platform based. You will utilize mature methodologies, procedures and techniques while contributing to the Business Objects Shared Service. You will improve service delivery and speed of problem analysis/resolution.
Day to day operations of the reporting environments. Respond to and resolve assigned Level 3
tickets
on Business Objects issues in XI3.1 and BI 4.0 production, test and development environments within defined SLA''s .
Technical problem resolution for all technology related issues with the BO environments, including trouble shooting server errors and utilizing management console for monitoring, requesting start and stop servers as required from infrastructure team.
Resolve customer complaints with software and respond to suggestions for software modifications or enhancements.
Vendor interaction via SAP Marketplace and with Technical Quality Manager on technical issues and problems requiring vendor support.
Assist in the planning, design and implementation of the Business Objects upgrade from v3.1 to v4.0. Conversion Planning and Execution (will work with the existing AD teams and their reporting applications to develop plans for migrating to the shared platform as well as migrating versions of the reporting tool set and completing planned conversions).
Identify and report problems in new and existing software. Recreate software problems to facilitate solutions. This includes validating/testing the fix for the software problems.
Performance management and capacity planning for BI 4.0 upgrade (reviews performance statistics, sets thresholds, understands future demands)
Assist with On-boarding new tenants to existing environment. Work with AD teams and the Report Analyst to determine approximate sizing of new reporting applications, assess fit into the existing shared environment, recommends upgrades/additions to the environment to support new requirements, coordinates implementation.
Security Management. Design and implement security by creating of user groups, granting access to BOE applications to users and adding security restrictions (application level, folder level and object level) based on user profile and user groups. Create access levels (interactive, adhoc, power) based on project needs.You will also adhere to IT Control Policies throughout design, development and testing and incorporate Corporate Architectural Standards into application design specifications.
Employ best practices for design, development, unit testing and test plan development
## Qualifications
Strong prior experience in Large Business Objects installation of XI 3.1 (Central Management Console, Designer, Desktop Intelligence, Web Intelligence, InfoView, Import Wizard, Crystal Reports, Xcelsius, Data Federator.
College degree in related technical area and specialized training.
Experience with server installation of Business Objects v3.1 or higher
Prior experience upgrading a large Business Objects installation from XI3.1 to BI4.0
Expertise in designing and building Universes and creating canned and ad-hoc reports using Desktop Intelligence, Web Intelligence, Crystal Reports and Xcelsius Dashboards.
Experience working in highly complex organizations, preferably financial services
Working knowledge of UNIX servers, Tomcat, Apache, and WebSphere
Database experience using Oracle 11g, SQL Server 2005, DB2,Sybase,Teradata
Prior experience with LCM, Promotion Manager, Upgrade Management Tool.
Prior experienceimplementing SAP Solution Manager Remote Support Component preferred
Excellent Verbal and Written communication.
