manager
role is a vital part of what we do and will be key in the launch and growth of our new businesses and products.
As ViaSat's Supply Chain Manager you will manage domestic and international strategic suppliers as you evaluate market trends and sources of supply. You will benchmark suppliers and industry technologies and perform past and future spend analysis. We will count on you to develop, present, and execute category sourcing strategies for key commodities.
The SCM represents the Supply Chain organization in several program teams and is responsible to propose sourcing options and possible trade offs in the requirements for the main components in order to reduce risks and meet the program technical expectations, schedule and budget. You will provide cost estimates during the bid and development phases and be responsible to obtain quotes, identify and validate suppliers as needed and provide all the information to the tactical procurement group to release production orders in compliance with all applicable requirements (ITAR, FAR requirements, competition, small businesses and price justification). You have experience leading an integrated product team through supplier selection and you are a shrewd negotiator! You have successfully drafted and executed subcontracts.

Requirements
8
years of experience as a supply chain professional in an entrepreneurial, high-tech environment.
Track record of successful strategic sourcing, negotiation, project management, and supplier relationship management within a low volume high mix environment.
Skilled user of Microsoft Office suite of business software is required: Word, Excel, and Power Point
Bachelor's degree with focus in Operations, Supply Chain or Engineering
US government
position
. US citizenship required.
Ability to travel up to 25%
Preferences
Master's Degree (ME, EE, IE)
C.P.M. or CPSM certification
Experienced user of Oracle 11i and Agile
Design to cost / design for manufacturability
Experience with FAR and DFAR
