Description
We are seeking an experienced Electrical/Controls Technician for our Technical Service team. Applicants should have several years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferably installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting of automated manufacturing equipment controlled with AB PLCs.
Primary
Responsibilities:

Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electro-mechanical systems, machinery electrical controls, PLC programs, Servo & VFD programs and controls, Safety circuitry, HMI terminals, and all other electrical control functions for high speed packaging processes in customers' manufacturing plants and at machine builder's plant.

Provide support for electrical and PLC controls issues (either by telephone, online, or on-site visits).

Provide unscheduled emergency troubleshooting and repairs of production equipment in the field.

Maintain up to date and current back-up documentation of all electronic machine and controller programs and effectively communicate changes to appropriate personnel.

Maintain current and up to date documents of adjustable parameters such as program recipes.

Practices LOTO and follows safe electrical work practices - serves as a leader in safe electrical working practices,
teaching
others to follow.

Assist with machine improvements

Present creative ideas to engineering, on possible solutions to common equipment deficiencies
Systems include but are not limited to
A-B Kinetix servo drives
A-B Current PLC (ControlLogix, CompactLogix)
A-B legacy hardware (PLC5, SLC500)
Communication protocols: Ethernet, Devicenet, RS232, Data-Highway Plus,
Allen-Bradley RSLinx - Primary software tool managing above protocols
Allen-Bradley software - RSLogix500, RSLogix5, RSLogix5000
A-B HMI (Panelview, Panelview Plus, RSView32)
Variable Speed Drives: Allen Bradley PowerFlex 40, 70, 700, and 575 AC drives
Required Skill Set:
Extensive hands-on experience with automated production equipment
Be able to read, interpret, and modify electrical prints and schematics and document and record changes. .
Must be at an advanced level in reading and interpreting electrical control drawings, ladder diagrams, PLC code, technical manuals and instructions
Excellent Industrial Controls troubleshooting skills
Able to work well with engineering, customer machine operators, and customer plant maintenance
Willing to expand skill-set and pick up greater responsibilities without being asked
## Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 5 years' hands-on experience in electrical and mechanical service and maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
Minimum 5 years' experience in writing, programming, and trouble-shooting PLC programs, Servo Controls & VFD's.
Advanced knowledge of
computer
networks, switches, IP addresses.
Must be able to take the lead on troubleshooting activities and be able to diagnose mechanical and electrical problems, using digital multi-meter, schematics and PLC code.
Must be willing to share knowledge and teach others
Excellent verbal and writtencommunication skills.
Must have a valid drivers license
Must have or be able to obtain a passport.
Ability to travel up to 60%
High School Diploma / GED required. A.S In Electrical Technology or B.S in
Electrical Engineering preferred
