Responsibilities

Daily management of site
computer
systems such as user administration, backup and user account management. Enforce server and workstation configuration standards.
Administer primarily Microsoft Windows servers with a lesser role administering Unix/Linux/Enterprise Storage servers supporting Intranet, Internet, email, and application
services
.
Ensure computer servers and workstations operate at optimal performance and capacity.
Monitor all networks using network management software (e.g., HP Open View, BigBrother)
Install, load, and configure computer servers of all kinds
Troubleshoot server failures and accessibility problems
Monitor system performance and track usage
Develop and deliver a trend analysis of system load, usage and response.
Perform server upgrades and migration to new server-level software
Perform system security functions (including system security plans)
Perform low level system engineering and integration functions
Ensure backup/recovery strategies are planned and implemented successfully
Help train other information technology professionals

Qualifications

Entry is with a high school diploma including computer-related courses/clubs.
High school curriculum must include computer-related courses, clubs, or activities.
Any of the following experience is desirable:
o Windows server-level experience supporting Microsoft Exchange Messaging system, Windows 2000 and Windows 2003 servers, Windows XP or Vista desktops.
o System Administration in a virtualized computing environment .
o System Administration of database systems, UNIX/Linux servers, and Enterprise SAN/NAS storage systems.
Liaison with local, deployed, and CONUS information technology personnel and DOD information technology work centers
Security
or CISSP certification
o Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE)
o Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA)
o Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD)
Fluent in the English Language

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
Salary Range: $39,985 - $63,580
