Growing company in Staten Island has an immediate need for a Senior Accountant with at least 7 years of experience. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for reviewing all general ledger activity and ensuring compliance with GAAP, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, preparing specialized financial reports including balance sheets, income and financial statements, and recommending process and procedural improvements for the accounting department.

Requirements:
Bachelor of Art / Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance.
Minimum 7 years of accounting experience with demonstrated career progression (journal entries, reconciliations, general ledger close).
Ability to take full ownership of the balance sheet, and the preparation of income and financial statements.
Intermediate Excel skills (lookups, formulas, sorting, spreadsheets).
Strong system skills.
Pluses:
Construction Accounting experience preferred.
Experience with intercompany transactions and multiple P and L's.
Proficiency with QuickBooks.
