Minimum of five years of experience with a Sybase Relational Database Administration in a production environment.
Prior experience in a fast paced high tech environment.
Performs data modeling, logical and physical database design. Includes maintenance of database dictionaries, monitoring of standards and procedures
Knowledge of SAN and Responsible for data loading, security, performance monitoring and tuning, capacity planning, and backup and recovery.
Solid skills in database performance fine tuning and optimizing poorly performing queries, stored procedures.
Bachelor's/Masters degree in
computer

Ability to architect, design and configure large, complex databases with replication and high-availability on the most current Sybase versions.
Translate logical to physical design, develops comprehensive DB architecture, implementation and upgrade plans and assists in definition of database standards, policies, and procedures.
Lead data requirements, architecture review, and modeling sessions.
Primary contact for projects within the team, interfacing with project managers, application development staff and
executive
management.
Experience with capital market and Mortgage business is compulsory.
Project based infrastructure and Execute database software installation, database creations/configurations and loads.
Maintenance and support of Sybase Mirroring, Log shipping, Clustering, and other methods of disaster recovery.
Responsible for data loading, security, capacity planning and backup and recovery.
Solid skills in database performance fine tuning and optimizing poorly performing queries, stored procedures.
Day-to-day 24x7 production operations (incident break/fix, change, service requests, vulnerability management).
Production patch/upgrade management.
On-Call pager rotation.
Customer support & communications.
Providing first-class database support and administration;
Supporting new business initiatives and projects
Ensuring housekeeping and monitoring of all database systems
Processing Enterprise Change Management business requests for various database activities.
Participation in Disaster Recovery
Processing of HelpDesk
tickets
and change management requests
Backup and Recovery
Performance and Tuning
Excellent Troubleshooting skills
