Position : Senior Structural Engineer (Bridge Design)
Location : Richmond, VA and Middletown CT
Type : Permanent
Salary : Open
Responsibilities:
Responsible for structural analysis, design, load ratings, bridge
repair
, rehabilitation, replacement and project engineering/management of bridge projects.
Work will include performing structural calculations, seismic analyses, and geometric layouts, development of bridge plans, specifications, cost estimates and developing complete sets of projects documents for the client.
Position will also require participation in presentations, client contact and meetings.
Required Qualification:
BS Degree in Civil/Structural engineering with five (5) to ten (10) years' experience.
P.E. License
Strong analytical, technical and engineering skills.
Good communication skills, both oral and written.
Software
Experience: VIRTIS, MDX, MICROSTATION, MS OFFICE, AutoCAD
Will be involved in the design of replacement / repair / rehabilitation of bridges in VA, and also design various ancillary structures associated with signature bridge projects for the state.
Must have strong familiarity with AASHTO LRFD/VDOT design practices. Lead the design & development of construction specifications, documents/plans, including active participation in supporting construction
services
and bidding.
VDOT bridge projects a plus
