Responsibilities:
In late 2009, Eli Lilly and Company formed Lilly Diabetes in an effort to refocus efforts on its diabetes businessan area in which the company has a deep heritage and history.
As part of this renewed focus, Lilly Diabetes is implementing a strategic communications strategy to reach both internal and external stakeholders about the companys commitment to diabetes care. This position will help develop communication plans in support of this goal.
Specifically, given the expanding diabetes pipeline, this position will help provide communications support for existing diabetes treatment options and well as a potential new diabetes therapy currently in late-stage development.
Specifically, this person will:
Partner with the commercialization team to implement communication tactics in support of the Lilly Diabetes narrative that reach external audiences, including customers, media and consumers.
Serve as a media spokesperson for Lilly Diabetes. Manage day-to-day public relations activities supporting the Lilly Diabetes brand, including direction of the PR agency of record.
Help develop and implement an employee communication strategy that creates broad organizational understanding about Lilly Diabetes strategy and vision.
Provide message development for internal channels, help manage editorial calendars, work with freelancers on story development and editing final copy. Some speechwriting may be required.
Help explore technologies for more effective communications webcasts, e-Cards, etc.
Integrate with the marketing team to begin initial support of a new molecule in development, including upcoming scientific disclosures, media opportunities at major medical meetings, etc.
Prepare/oversee development of communications for media about the molecule such as press releases, standby statements (Q&As), media alerts and media kit materials
Basic
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in journalism, communications, public relations or related field.
Minimum of seven years experience in a professional communications position (journalist or corporate communicator).
Experience with social media/digital communications
Experience creating and executing communications plans, including for highly sensitive information and crisis communications
Experience working with the media, writing for print and electronic media; ability to write on deadline.
Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position
Additional Skills/Preferences:
Demonstrated experience in the development and execution of creative and strategic communication plans and organizational change management.
Strong strategic thinker with experience in project management.
Experience with scientific disclosures and other pharmaceutical PR work.
Strong background in media relations, including interacting with A-list media and serving as a spokesperson.
Ability to juggle many projects at once in a fast-paced environment with very tight deadlines. Must be able to work well under stress.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritize and make good trade-off decisions.
Superior writing skills and ability to translate complex messages into clear, concise, compelling communications.
Experience interacting with and providing appropriate communications counsel and support to senior leaders. Able to influence others.
Meticulous and exacting attention to detail, but also able to grasp the big picture.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
