Reliability Engineer, New Orleans, LA (Offshore) Provides overall platform engineering support across a range of engineering disciplines. The Reliability Engineer focuses on asset integrity and equipment availability by balancing sound operating methods and efficient troubleshooting/
repair
efforts with optimization of preventative maintenance strategies. The Reliability Engineer maintains day-to-day focus on operational performance and total asset reliability and is the focal point for surface related issues regarding availability, reliability, maintenance/repair of equipment systems, equipment operation, and equipment health Accountabilities: Provide onsite daily engineering support to Operations Identify, prioritize, and take action to mitigate threats to availability before such threats become troublesome Champion the Root Cause Analysis process for equipment failures Foster a climate that promotes equipment ownership, maintenance, and continuous improvement Guide efforts to measure and communicate reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, and controls Provide on-site support for hydrocarbon production information management Provide training, coaching, and mentoring to Equipment Owners on application, operation, and maintenance of equipment to provide reliability at the lowest possible cost Assist Equipment Owners in development of CLAIR Activities (Clean, Lubricate, Adjust, Inspect, Repair) Develop Equipment Walk Down (EWD) schedule and criteria Facilitate Monthly System Performance Reviews, identify bad actors and associated remediation plans, track remedial actions to closure Participate in the MOC Process Maintain the local Asset Technical Library and other engineering related Business Control Documentation Coach and mentor Operational Support Engineers (OSEs) on-board for developmental assignments Dimensions: A team player with an active network of other specialists (both inside and outside of their profession) capable of filling a range of specific team roles as required Able to learn and pass on gained competences while being aware of people diversities and the responsibilities of work in a team. Special Challenges: Supports R&D efforts for the discipline Provides feedback to the L&D organization on courses that they have attended Experience and Qualifications Required: Must be a U.S. Citizen, or hold a valid work visa that does not require sponsorship in order to legally work full-time in the United States Bachelors degree from an accredited college is required, preferred degree is in Engineering 4 years of experience in reliability and maintenance engineering, related experience or military experience Strong leadership and coaching skills with the ability to problem solve and manage projects Must be self directed and self motivated Good oral and written communication skills at all levels or Organization Results oriented Strong business and commercial acumen Special Requirements: Be willing to work the 14 days on/14 days off (12 hours per shift) work schedule for your assigned work location Demonstrate a personal commitment to safety and safe working practices and support Shell's team work environment Be willing to support Shell's drug-free and harassment-free work environment Be willing to work on high platforms, walk on high elevation grating and to walk up and down stairs in an Operating Environment Must be able to get self to jump off point in New Orleans for scheduled work days You must currently possess a valid or be able to qualify to receive your TWIC card prior to start date You must have recently taken or be willing to take Helicopter Underwater Evacuation Training (HUET) Candidates must be willing to take and pass a FTW (Fitness to Work) test Be willing to work at heights, walk on high elevation grating, walk up and down stairs and work in confined spaces and outdoors with training/reasonable accommodation Be willing to ride in a helicopter over the Gulf of Mexico waters for extended periods of time BACH_a33d1a BETS_ARC_Setter of operation Engineers equipment feedback Facilitate health Asset MYK62683JREstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
