JOB INFORMATION Utilize expertise and operate with considerable latitude in performing duties related to installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting mechanical and/or electrical systems that are part of the facility's infrastructure. Coordinate with and monitor outside vendors that provide specialized
services
to ensure that the mechanical and/or electrical work product for the facility is operational 24x7. Provide value-added expertise and exercise independent judgment in conducting research and determining methods and procedures on new or special assignments. May operate in a lead or supervisory role. KEY JOB FUNCTIONS Develop and execute strategies and plans for a variety of building equipment and systems including, but not limited to, mechanical, HVAC, electrical distribution, and associated monitoring and control systems. Manage internal and external relationships. Provide input to expense and capital project budgets, participate in budget review meetings, and review year-end accrual reports. Assist in developing the Capital Improvement Plan as it relates to the facility's mechanical and/or electrical infrastructure. Oversee vendor services. Collaborate with team members, Procurement, and senior management in soliciting, evaluating, and negotiating vendor agreements. Ensure that systems operate and are maintained within corporate, regulatory, and safety parameters. Monitor records maintenance. Represent company in interactions with government or regulatory officials. Respond to escalated and sensitive inquiries and other requests for data. Document and analyze interactions. Report results. Ensure positive outcomes. Design, develop, and maintain processes to track, monitor, and report activities. Evaluate results. Present insights and best practices. Conduct research and analyses. Report findings. May participate in relatively large or complex development, maintenance, installation, or other projects. EDUCATION Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required MINIMUM EXPERIENCE 6 years of related experience SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS Experience in leading development and implementation of mechanical engineering concept studies and improvements for critical facility systems such as HVAC, Generators, Chillers, Fire Systems, Elevators, and other mechanical systems. Experience in overseeing implementation of projects including drawing and specification development, bidding, award, planning, construction, safety, commissioning, and operation and maintenance. Experience in leading problem solving on complex systems with root cause identification and action plan development and tracking. Experience in develop and implementation of projects for energy savings. Experience in development and implementation in solar projects is preferred. Experience in improving or development of equipment and engineering standards and best practices. Experience in management of outside engineering firms depending on scope and magnitude. Position is an on-call, 24/7 position. Limited travel will be required to regional offices in the US.
