Responsibility will be to assist the validation team in the testing of Ethernet Products at the software component and system levels. Work will include development, modification and execution of software test plans, analysis of product features, execution of automated and manual test cases and analysis of test results to verify correct feature requirements. Validation Technician will also consult with development engineers to discover and resolve driver related issues. Responsibilities will include: - Testing wired Ethernet software drivers within the Linux operating system - Designing, writing and executing test cases - Documenting test suites and test results - Troubleshooting software defects and entering information into a defect tracking database - Working closely with software development engineers to resolve product quality issues Required skills:- Linux OS fundamentals - Ethernet networking familiarity (ie associated standards, protocols, and network equipment and configuration) - Critical thinking skills Preferred skills: - Seasoned Linux administration skills, versatile in console commands and Scripting (Perl/Python, BASH, etc.) - Some experience with open source virtualization (KVM, Xen) installation, configuration, and virtual infrastructure administration - Hands-on experience in building the open source Kernel - VMware ESX operating system fundamentals and experience a plus CompuCom, the leading IT outsourcing specialist, delivers IT your way.
