Summary:
We are looking for an individual who will be able to do research, analyze, and solve problems involving highly complex issues within reporting areas. Apply creativity in arriving at workable solutions.
Responsibilities
Help build the infrastructure to support best in class fraud models and strategies to mitigate fraud risk.
Research and investigate application fraud risk and analyze patterns in support of fraud strategy development.
Perform analysis of internal and external data to develop best in class fraud strategies.
Translate analytical findings into actionable strategic recommendations.
Monitor the performance of existing fraud strategies and present findings in concise and effective manner via related reports and presentations.
Continually identify and recommend strategy adjustments based on emerging fraud trends.
Identify innovative solutions using existing systems to mitigate fraud risk.
Develop collaborative relationship with cross-functional partners across the enterprise, including Operations, Marketing and Finance, to mitigate application fraud risk, while delivering world-class customer experiences and meeting business objectives.
Complete additional Ad hoc requests as necessary.
Requirements
Bachelors degree in a quantitative field or equivalent combination of experience and education required.
Must have recent experience in Credit/Debit Card field.
Must have recent experience with Ad hoc request
Three to five years of experience in gathering and analyzing financial data in the financial
services
industry with experience with fraud strategy development.
Experience using SAS/SQL programming languages.
Proficient in MS Office, with advanced MS Excel skills.
Knowledge of the Consumer Finance industry a plus.
Ability to take ambiguous data questions and translate into a clear analytical plan, and produce concise summary output that includes recommendations based upon core findings.
Ability to effectively communicate complicated data and analytical issues verbally and in writing to core stakeholders and partners across the enterprise.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment as part of a team.
Work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision. Must maintain confidentiality of highly sensitive material
Extensive oral and written communication with all levels of personnel within AGF and external contacts with AIG, auditors, regulatory agencies and vendors.
Must have strong presentation skills; very knowledgeable in Microsoft PowerPoint
Proficient in the following: Project management, analytical and problem solving skills
PC skills including wide variety of software packages (i.e., word processing, spreadsheet and database) and mainframe applications
Excellent verbal and written communications, able to communicate at all levels of management including cross-functional teams.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
