Responsibilities
A postdoctoral research fellowship position exists for an expert in the field of biological mass spectrometry. Working within the Division of Discovery Chemistry and Research Technologies, the research associate will be responsible for designing and implementing new mass spectrometry based methods in support of early stage drug discovery efforts. Primarily, the postdoctoral fellow will be responsible for designing and implementing new activity based proteomics methods to validate target engagement in cellular systems. Additional project support in the area of quantitative and qualitative biological mass spectrometry will also be expected. It is anticipated that the research undertaken will yield novel methods and new information that would be suited to publication in high impact scientific journals.
Basic Qualifications
A Ph.D. in the area of chemistry, biochemistry and related areas.
A minimum of three years practical experience with biological mass spectrometry within a research environment.
Demonstrated track record for publication and presentation of research results.
The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of mass spectrometry instrumentation and methods.
A solid understanding of the mechanisms of peptide ion fragmentation with CAD / ETD would be a benefit.
