The Newscaster KCTV develops, writes and reports news stories and

and presents information live or on tape. This
position
coordinates with Better KC producers. The Newscaster KCTV also gathers, packages and brokers information about a news topic to the general public.

Requirements:
Education:
Bachelors degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications or related field, or equivalent training and/or experience.
Experience:
Three years experience in print or broadcast journalism.
Experience reporting news at a commercial television station preferred.
Experience shooting strongly preferred.
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to combine words and pictures into informative and interesting news stories.
Ability to shoot strongly preferred.
Ability to edit stories as necessary.
Ability to accept direction from assignment desk and management.
Strong initiative and self motivation to create news stories.
Ability to perform quality work in high-pressure deadline situations.
Able to balance between planning ahead and getting results.
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Valid Drivers license preferred.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
