Education /
Experience:
Bachelors degree in Engineering is required, MBA preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of Purchasing /Supply Chain / Quality experience.
Previous experience with VA/VE (Value Analysis/Value Engineering).
Candidates with C. P. M. certifications/designations preferred.
Cross-functional experience gained in procurement-related functional areas.
Strong International background.
Must have recent SAP Experience.
Must speak English
Spanish and other languages a plus.
Must be able to travel 50-65%, some international travel.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Support group on the Supplier Assessment Procedure for new Suppliers / Products.
Definition and implementation of optimum sourcing strategy to achieve maximum contribution to operating profit and business objectives.
Procurement marketing / global sourcing to establish a basis for decisions for optimum sourcing strategy.
Push design to cost, as defined by target costing process, with the objective to implement target costs derived from VA/VE cost workshops.
Assist Suppliers in areas such as Continuous Improvement Process (CIP), lean manufacturing and quality management.
Supplier management (in conjunction with partner functions, e.g. Development, Quality, Logistics, etc.) to acquire the best suppliers and to guarantee an optimum supply chain.
Negotiate terms and conditions of contracts to guarantee certainty of supply with the best terms.
Prepare sourcing decisions to guarantee these decisions correspond to the sourcing strategy.
Intensive, regular contact with internal/external interface partners to recognize developments (in market, demand, etc.) and exert influence accordingly.
Reporting on the controlling of defined information and figures outside Divisional and Group boundaries to make results transparent and control purchasing activities on a results-oriented basis.
Breaking down (material-related) target figures into Divisions / sites to define strategies and set corresponding targets.
Interdisciplinary working group/project work to inform oneself, exert influence and optimize internal processes and procedures.
Close Cooperation with Advanced Purchasing during the definition of Preferred Suppliers and Supplier Panel
