Electrical Technicians
International manufacturer of power generation and distribution equipment in Lenexa, Ks is looking for highly skilled Certified Electricians.
Summary:
This
position
will perform electrical routine tests and quality control work on power generating equipment and systems.
Responsibilities
- Perform in-process quality checks.
- Manage workflow to meet daily production requirements.
- Inspect/test generators to ensure quality and good operation.
- Operate all testing equipment and tools
- Responsible for monitoring and requesting material required (diesel, antifreeze, etc.). Communicate with Purchasing department in a timely manner.
- Completes testing and documentation.
- Communicate production/quality issues to Quality Control
manager
in a timely manner.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized assigned work area.
- Ensure housekeeping and safety practices are followed and maintained.
- Assist moving/placing generators for testing. Driving forklift truck as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand throughout an 8 hour day shift.
- Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs. on an occasional basis.
- Hand/finger dexterity to grasp and manipulate small parts and tools.
- Must use hands for repetitive simple grasping, pushing, pulling and fine manipulation.
- Must be able to occasionally bend, squat and climb, including the ability to ascend and descend ladders.
Requirements
- Associate or Technical Electrical degree or related degree or experience required. Recent Graduates are welcome to apply.
- Must have a Certified Electrical License.
- Must have 2- 3 years of related experience.
- Ability to troubleshoot, perform tests, and repairs of generators.
- Ability to read and follow electric schematics and drawings.
- Knowledge of fundamentals of electricity, basic generators operations.
Must be willing to be cross-trained in all areas of production.
- Ability to perform other duties outside of primary area of responsibility where employees skill sets may be needed.
- Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Must have excellent organizational and prioritization skills
- Must have reliable transportation and a valid drivers license.
- Must be punctual, responsible, and reliable.
- Must be able to write & read English.
- Must have good hand-eye coordination and be able to work with small parts.
- Must be able to work overtime as required.
- Experience working in a fast pace environment.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Forklift experience a plus.
- Must be able to pass background check and physical and drug screen.
