Applied Engineering, Inc. is accepting applications for a Software Developer Intern based in our Bismarck, ND office. As a Software Developer Intern at Applied, you will have the opportunity to cultivate your skills and knowledge, work in a team environment, and gain hands-on experience in software development. This position will be approximately 15-30 hours per week, with a schedule to be determined based on factors such as the candidates availability and the companys internal software development needs.
Under the guidance of the Technology Infrastructure team, the Software Developer Intern will develop and support custom applications for internal customers throughout the company as well as provide back-up software and hardware support as needed. This position also has the potential to develop and support custom applications for our external customers.
JOB DUTIES:
Provide recommendations for the development of effective internal software application solutions
Write code and design systems capturing the design intent of the application
Create and maintain documentation per acceptable departmental standards
Communicate and demonstrate designs to internal customers
Provide internal IT technical support, as needed
Qualifications:
Pursuing an Associates or Bachelors degree in a computer-related field
Software development experience learned through coursework or work experience preferred
Experience with any of the following development languages is a plus: PHP, Joomla, .NET, JAVA, C, C++, JavaScript
Relational database experience preferred, but not required: MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle
Professional demeanor, effective oral and written communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skills
Strong analytical and problem solving skills, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills
