Groundwork Doa Ana (GWDA) is a small not-for-profit environmental and educational organization dedicated to building a cleaner, safer, more beautiful Doa Ana County through environmental programs that also help local youth develop life, work, and leadership skills. We are seeking applicants for a new
executive
Director. Projects include development and maintenance of trails and neighborhood parks,
community
gardens, and neighborhood redevelopment.
In cooperation with the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will lead GWDA in day -to- day operations, short-term and long-term planning, and will be primarily responsible for obtaining grant funding. The Executive Director will plan and supervise projects, manage the organizations finances and accounting (with external support), maintain and create new community partnerships, and work with the Board on fundraising, and marketing.
Qualifications:
BS/BA in a field that demonstrates relevant interest and knowledge, and significant experience in initiating and executing successful community, education, and environmental and youth oriented programs preferred. Demonstrated grant writing experience is important, as is experience working with youth, and within the community. Effective writing and communication skills, a working knowledge of fiscal management, proficiency with
computer
programs such as spreadsheet and presentation software is essential. Fluency in Spanish would be helpful. Self-motivation, flexibility, teamwork, and creativity will be necessary for success.
