8 plus years of database experience
4 year college degree in

science or related field with advanced study preferred.
Some night and weekend work will be required.
Responsibilities:
Possesses extensive knowledge of one or more database systems, and is capable of hands-on work in all phases of database design and management.
Designs, develops, and implements infrastructure to provide highly-complex, reliable, and scalable database to meet the organization's objectives and requirements.
Analyzes organization's business requirements for database design, and implements changes to database as required.
Performs systems analysis on database, and resolves performance, capacity, and replication issues as necessary.
Provides detailed design and specification documentation, including flowcharts, for all aspects of the database.
Works with database analysts to develop methodologies, report views, queries, and table replications
Ensures that all the data is in the proper format.
Participates in the identification, prioritization, and development of technical initiatives and strategies.
Develops and maintains database standards and naming conventions.
Keeps up-to-date on emerging database architectures, technologies, and methodologies, and attends training
classes
as necessary.
Support databases and application technology stacks (forms, reports, SOA, Java, J2EE, etc.) underlying the Oracle eBusiness (financials) and Oracle Merchandizing Operations Management (retail) applications. This currently consists of over 35 database and 45 application servers, plus the planned additional 15 application and 15 database servers.
Support the databases and application technology stacks underlying Oracle point-of-service applications.
Troubleshoot and resolve support issues related to database, Oracle application server and the Oracle technology stack
Recommend and implement database organization strategies to minimize downtime and improve performance
Apply/migrate changes to development, test and production environments such as data changes, vendor-provided patches, technical/functional configuration changes, and modified reports, interfaces, customization, extensions and workflow objects
Clone applications and databases between production and test.
Support weekly applications re-start and scheduled maintenance
Automate weekly applications re-starts and scheduled maintenance
Develop operational and management scripts to improve the operations of the Oracle applications Monitor databases and Oracle application servers and respond to alerts
Participate in capacity planning
Support resolution of database and application performance issues
Provide recommendations for tuning underperforming applications to increase performance (SQL Tuning, Index Tuning and Memory Tuning)
Design, develop and manage backup and recovery policies and procedures
Manage and monitor disk space
Participate in change control meetings
Maintain the patch inventory and patch logs

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
