12 Hr Shifts Thurs - Saturday 7p - 7a with alternative Wednesdays
$14/hr
BASIC FUNCTION: This position is responsible for performing quality checks.
ESSENTIAL FUNCITIONS: Pull samples from the lines for quality checks; performs quality checks on samples including weights, seals, flavor and appearance of food products; check rate sheets in processing; take weights with leadperson and check temperature of roasting nuts; Pull out and put away retention samples weighing between 10-15 lbs off of shelves using stool or ladder if necessary; move cases off of pallets as needed for checks; tear open sealed cases, force open flaps of the shippers on the cases of product to check inner boxes and the quality of the seal; monitor candy stands for correct ingredients; monitor all employees for the proper use of food safety handling and rules; general housekeeping of work area; ensure materials being produces are at the specified quality level; monitors equipment use and operating perimeters; effectively communicate with co-workers, supervising staff and outside resources verbally and in writing; must be discreet with company confidential information and perform other duties as assigned by supervisor and leadperson.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to do moderate lifting up to 30 lbs; work in varied and high temperatures with high humidity (up to 110 degrees F); able to bend, stoop and stand repetitively, and walk on slippery wet floors with or without reasonable accommodation.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to follow instructions, be familiar with current operations and perform on the job training. Must have good
computer
skills including Windows and Lotus and the metric system. Must adhere to all safety rules and procedures. Knowledge of weight control, seal integrity, SOPs, product quality, SSOPs, HACCP procedure, raw materials and packaging.
