Link Technologies is hiring a Sr. Telecommunications Engineer to work on an 11 month contract with a utility company in Reno, NV.
Responsibilities:
Develop detail designs of communications systems, sites, and facilities for expansion of private network.
Provides technical direction to Engineers.
Works independently in planning and designing communication for projects.
Provides project planning for enhancements for all types of telecommunication technologies including: analog/ digital microwave radios, fiber optic cable systems, lightwave/SONET radios, conventional/trunked mobile radio systems, video conferencing systems, PBX/telephone systems, digital/analog multiplex data communications equipment, remote telemetry/SCADA, protective relaying and AC/DC power.
Provide for accurate project cost estimates, create and monitor work orders, account for project budget variances and written correspondence to include technical RFP/RFQs and presentation materials.
Administers FCC Licensing.
Provide project work information and technical support for communication field crews.
Provide for accurate time and cost estimates, create/track work orders, account for budget variances.
Create technical RFQ/RFP documents for system and/or service offerings.
Provide project management, work coordination and technical support for field.
Provide for capacity planning and R&D as necessary.
Ensure validity of engineering documentation.
Interact with vendors to review and evaluate technical product offerings.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Telecom Engineering from an accredited college or university.
6 or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Specialized training courses completed on communications equipment or systems.
Experience using MS Word, Excel and database software.
Work Environment and Physical Demands General office environment.
