Overview:
Supporting client commercial energy efficiency programs, the Energy Engineer is responsible for performing ASHRAE Level II energy assessments, retro-commissioning, energy modeling, data collection and monitoring, technical service provider coordination, quality assurance and quality control, measurement and verification and adhering to industry accepted methodologies and practices. This
position
requires technical capacity and strong personal skills to encourage action and promote efficiency with end use customers. The successful candidate will report to the Midwest Engineering
manager
(Director) who oversees engineering activities that support program implementation and the Business Unit Manager (Director).

Responsibilities:
Work with program and client staff to identify, develop and support energy saving projects on customer sites
Recommend appropriate energy saving measures in identified projects, particularly motors, drives, process, HVAC, and other savings measures
Quantify savings, costs, and benefits, consistent with program and policy requirements, including the development and implementation of measurement and verification (M&V) plans as necessary
Support and train program team, client, and participant staff to identify energy savings opportunities
Effectively communicate technical terms and concepts to non-technical staff and partners, and provide education to non-technical internal staff
Provide technical knowledge base to explain complex energy issues to internal as well as external parties
Examine and identify areas of opportunity to increase energy efficiency utilizing new or existing technologies, provide creative market transformation ideas, and/or innovative implementation strategies
Utilize effective writing and verbal skills to support entire program team to deliver the target energy savings to meet our clients' goals
Manage your time and tasks to provide accurate deliverables in the specified time frameReport concerns and issues to management in a timely manner

Requirements:
Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree
1-6 years' experience in energy engineering, consulting engineering
services
, and/or utility incentive programs
Knowledge in the fundamental concepts of energy-efficiency technologies, programs and policies
Knowledge in facility assessment process and demonstrated ability to independently conduct energy audits at a large facility
Experience and willingness to utilize various technologies
Microsoft Office Suite experience, with strong Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills
Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
Demonstrated ability to conduct presentations and communicate their findings at the customer and client level
Self-motivated and continuous drive to deliver on deadlines and meet program goals
Retro-commissioning experience preferred, but not required
Professional Engineering (PE license) preferred OR track towards license required
Must pass background and motor vehicle check
