PURPOSE OF ANNOUNCEMENT

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) provides support ranging from desktop support for over 13,000 employees to applications that support a wide variety of program areas for the State of Maine. This current vacancy is with the OIT group that supports public safety and law enforcement systems for multiple agencies. We are seeking a highly talented individual who can lead a technical team with a variety of complex projects. We are seeking a Systems Team Lead to become a part of our IT team, playing a critical role in helping serve the citizens of Maine through the provision of vital IT
services
to program managers and staff.

JOB DESCRIPTION

This
position
will join a management team that is focused on supporting information technology applications systems. Specifically, this position will be responsible for the management of complex Public Safety and law enforcement systems. The selected candidate will work closely with the program management & staff to meet ongoing needs for applications development, maintenance, and support. They will manage/supervise a team of technical employees to ensure agency priorities are accomplished and that pertinent operational requirements such as security standards for criminal justice information are met. Many applications are utilized in a wireless/mobile environment.

This position requires a professional individual who is self-motivated, has strong leadership skills, and is well-qualified to join our Applications Team. Preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated excellence in staff development, business analysis, project team management, oral and written communication, customer service, and who have a strong background in application technology. Experience with.NET / SQL and/or Oracle environments would be helpful. The skills and abilities to develop a clear understanding of technology and business needs is a must.

Work includes: serving as a customer account
manager
; working closely with program managers; providing direction to project teams and critical legacy applications support teams; developing project/request timelines and cost estimates; allocating team resources; and ensuring project/request feasibility, timeliness, and quality. Work is performed under limited supervision. The position is located in Augusta.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

In order to qualify, you must have seven (7) years progressively responsible experience in application system analysis and programming including a minimum of one (1) year in a working
supervisor
role.

's Retirement: 17.07% of salary for BU positions and 22.07% for Confidential Positions.

The value of State-paid Dental Insurance: $13.13 biweekly. The value of State-paid Health Insurance:

Level 1: 100% State Contribution (employee pays nothing): $363.77 biweekly
Level 2: 95% State Contribution (employee pays 5%): $345.58 biweekly
Level 3: 90% State Contribution (employee pays 10%): $327.39 biweekly
Level 4: 85% State Contribution (employee pays 15%): $309.20 biweekly

The level of the actual value of state paid Health Insurance will be based on the employee's wage rate and status with regard to the health credit premium program as of July 1, 2011.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
