Our client, a well respected Boston Area
real estate
Company, is seeking an experienced finance professional to lead their accounting and finance group.
In this highly visible role you will report directly to the President. You will be responsible for ensuring that the company's client financial reports are prepared accurately, timely and in compliance with all relevant rules and regulations. You will also be responsible for providing technical accounting advice on emerging accounting, reporting and business issues as they arise within the Company.
Responsibilities:
Manage the client financial reporting process.
Proactively research technical accounting and reporting matters and stay abreast of pending changes in relevant technical guidance. Analyze potential impact on the company.
Assist with writing, implementing and maintaining corporate accounting policies and procedures.
Coordinate and facilitate the work of external auditors.
Participate in special projects, including acquisitions, divestitures, and reorganizations and other projects as assigned.
Requirements:
CPA with ten plus years of experience in auditing and preparing financial statements.
Excellent oral and written communication skills. You must be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
Able to clearly and concisely document technical accounting and reporting matters and effectively communicate complex accounting issues to non-financial people at different level.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
