Roles/
Responsibilities:
Preferred proficiency with NMLS licensing system and ability to apply for and complete information on NMLS for the application of company and individual licenses.
Experience with business registration processes with Secretary of State Offices, such as how to complete necessary forms to renew registrations, obtain copies of registrations, and change information on file.
Prepare, track and file various documents, including filings, company license applications, surety bonds, insurance policies and certificates, and other documents as needed.
Maintains documents in paper and electronic filing system.
Prepares form agreements, affidavits, and legal correspondence for the department.
Gather and analyze research data, such as license applications, statutes and regulations and legal articles, and other documents.
Notarize various documents as needed.
Format and proofread documents and correspondence as needed.
Submit check requests for company licenses and applications.
Communicate with third parties as needed for completion of various tasks.
Maintains in house attorney's calendars, such as docketing and scheduling various deadlines.
Performs other administrative duties as assigned, such as booking travel, conferences, meetings and preparing inbound and outbound mail.
Education/Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent; Associates Degree in Legal Studies is preferred.
3-5 years of experience as a legal assistant or paralegal is required.
Paralegal training is strongly preferred.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
