Key Responsibilities
Lives in the Linux/Unix world by preference - implements systems using cloud platforms/
services
(AWS EC2, Google, etc.) and wonders why you'd ever buy servers again
Network topologies are second nature; common network protocols are a second language
Can install and troubleshoot services such as database, webserver, proxies, app servers, etc.
Thinks the command line epitomizes nirvana - expert in multiple server scripting languages
Designs with 10,000 concurrent users in mind
Works with other senior engineers to architect and refine game server systems
Works with designers, artists and other personnel involved in the development of products as required
Required Skills
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in
computer
Science or Computer Engineering

years professional software development experience writing client / server applications in Java, Python, and PHP
Experience working with SQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySql, etc.)
Experience with scripting languages such as Lua, Groovy, and bash
Expertise in building multithreaded, multi-process, real-time systems
Expertise with client/server message passing architectures
Experience tuning real-time server systems for performance and reliability
Expertise in implementing distributed systems on Unix/Linux Operating platforms
Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
Strong interpersonal skills and problem solving ability
Experience mentoring or directing work of more junior staff
Game industry experienceEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
