Controls Engineer - Exeter, NH Description Scope of position Osram Sylvania is a global leader in the lighting industry. We are seeking an experienced Controls Engineer for our growing ceramics manufacturing operations in Exeter, NH. Applicants should have several years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferably with a variety of machine control systems and programming languages. Experience with high speed automation, robotics and vision systems would also be beneficial. The successful candidate will join a skilled and motivated team in optimizing the production processes, advancing current technologies, and implementing new technologies. They will be actively involved in all aspects of the many automated processes used to produce ceramic components for application in lighting products. Some projects will require working independently, and some will involve extensive teamwork. Active participation will be expected both within and beyond department boundaries to resolve important process and product issues. This position will act as the department expert for controls and automated systems.
Responsibilities: - Optimization of automated processes for improved utilization and yield - Optimization of vision systems for part inspection - Troubleshooting of automation problems - Process improvement and cost reduction projects based on analysis of process data - New process/equipment/automation design and development Required Skills: - Capability to work with a variety of machine programming languages and to learn new languages quickly - Creative/Innovative/Rigorous problem solving - Ability to communicate and work effectively with the hourly work force, engineers, and management - Able to collaborate across organizational boundaries and integrate solutions - Results oriented and high commitment/energy - Ability to learn new technologies and processes quickly Useful Skills: - VLC Programming - PLC Programming - Robotics and Vision Systems - 6 Sigma, Lean, TPM - Advanced
