Network Operations Center is a 24x7 operation. The Specialist provides support and monitoring of the company's production environment, corporate environment, as well as the business partner infrastructure. Primary responsibilities include the monitoring and maintenance of the production environment and all servers therein, resolve, troubleshoot, and open trouble

, escalate issues to various teams and/or 3rd party partners/suppliers, and the following of proper triage procedures when escalating to others inside or outside of Network Operations.
Principle Duties and
Responsibilities:
o Troubleshoot and isolate failed equipment, connections, and facility issues.
o Update the Commercial Call Centers of outages in a timely fashion.
o Track and update problems in our trouble ticketing system.
o Create and distribute reports to management and necessary team members.
o Maintain a broad knowledge of all products, issues and escalation procedures.
o Insures the efficient and trouble free operation of all remote and local workstations and servers.
o Coordinates monitoring activities for infrastructure and servers.
o Communicates relevant scheduled and emergency activities with NOC Manager.
o Insures that all network equipment is maintained in proper working order.
o Maintains server inventories and environmental documentation.
o Responsible for monitoring NOC support queue.
o Provide second / third level support - via phone, email, or visiting user.
o Step through preliminary checklist of problem resolution methods.
o Communicate with various business groups for resolutions and issues.
o Log activities, track progress, and time in a repository in NOC Database.
o Acquire knowledge of base and intermediate systems deployed in organization. (Network topologies, Methodologies, Hardware, Software, Business logic)
o Escalate issues by contacting appropriate parties in accordance with organization's procedures
o Follow up on user satisfaction and unresolved issues.
o Train on special projects that enhance skill level.
Required Skills
o UNIX/Linux
o Protocol standards (SMTP, POP, DNS, etc.), TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, DNS, Email, and Microsoft's Windows Operating Systems.
o Candidate must have excellent troubleshooting and decision making skills, and a strong sense of urgency.
o Candidate should be personable, have excellent communication skills, and be able to effectively interact with employees and supervisors.
o Candidate must be extremely reliable.
o Some knowledge and previous usage of monitoring systems is required.
o College degree preferred, or equivalent work experienceEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
