This client is looking to hire a Hydraulics Engineer to be based out of their headquarters in South Bend, IN.

Summary:
Design, size and specify hydraulic components for industrial machinery.
Essential
job
Functions
Design hydraulic circuits for industrial machinery, meeting US and international codes: NFPA, CE, ISO, etc.
Specify pumps, valves, manifolds, filters and other key hydraulic hardware.
Work closely with controls and mechanical engineers to optimize the design of the machine as a whole.
Perform calculations for flow rate, pump capacity, power, valve size, pressure drop, line size and other analysis as required.
Assist in start-up and trouble shooting of hydraulic systems.
Work with vendors to reduce cost, improve performance and reduce lead times.
Understand theory and application of servo hydraulic systems.
Perform analysis of high-speed servo systems including natural frequency, acceleration time, valve flow rates and response time requirements
Set-up and tune close loop servo systems
Design position and force feedback loops

EDUCATION:
BSME/BSMET and 3 years experience with industrial hydraulics or ASMET and 5 years experience with industrial hydraulics
Experience:
1-5 years in engineering organization, involved in design of manufacturing machinery
REQUIRED SKILLS:
1. Hydraulic circuit design
2. Component hardware and specification
3. Ability to perform analysis and sizing calculations
4. AutoCAD
PREFERRED SKILLS:
1. Servo hydraulic experience
2. Mechanical design of machine elements
3. Solidworks
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
