A CAD Drafter is needed immediately for a leading Civil
engineering
firm specializing in site civil engineering and consulting. Qualified Candidates must have 3
years' design experience, preferably using Civil 3D design software. This position is located in the Greater
washington
, D.C. area.
Responsibilities for the CAD Drafter
Plan and prepare preliminary layouts and detailed design drawings from engineering notes, sketches, and/or other drawings, ensuring they meet company and industry standards and codes.
Design and Draft various development, zoning & concept plans using CAD Autodesk Autocad, Civil 3D and
land
Development Desktop.
Complete drawing/project responsibilities within scope, budget and schedule; review drawings for completeness and accuracy.
Organize/maintain all revisions of project drawings, plot files and project-related information in a logical and well structures manner.
Use 3rd party applications (AutoTURN, StormCAD, etc.) to generate drawings based on specific project requirements.
Requirements for the CAD Drafter
Technical degree or certificate of completion from an accredited designer/drafter curriculum is preferred.
3
years of design experience preferred
Strong working knowledge of Civil 3D with a minimum of 1 year using it in a design capacity preferred.
Have good working knowledge within CAD drawings as related to layer management and usage, drawing scales, plotting and plot scales, cross-sections & profiles.
