Responsibilities: Build and develop dies, tools as required. Ensure timely completion of repairs, new dies, tooling, fixtures and jigs etc as required so that production is not interrupted by: o Compute dimensions and tolerances and set up machine tools o Position, secure, measure and work metal stock or castings to lay out for machining o Set up, operate and maintain a variety of machine tools o Verify machined parts for conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments o Fit, assemble or disassemble parts using hand tools o Machine, fit and assemble casting and other parts to make metal patterns, core boxes o Ensure preventative maintenance program are done on tools and dies based on assigned schedules o Provide assistance, guidance and advice to Junior Tool and Die Makers and Apprentices as required o Ensure that product identification, traceability, process control, packaging instructions are being followed at all times o Minimize costs of operating through proper planning and efficient use of all available resources Address all quality related problems and provide prompt resolutions and recommendations so as to minimize production interruption Abide by all company polices including, but not limited to the following; Health and safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human resources policies, Job Requirements Working Conditions Working in a factory environment Frequent distractions and interruptions Multiple demands in a challenging and fact paced-team orientation environment 100% indoors plant floor (PPE required Frequent need to give concentrated attention to surroundings Frequent requirement of handling heavy equipment (operation) Effort/Physical Demands Constant Standing, with occasional bending Noisy environment Constant communication with employees, peers, management Possible use of computer and dispatch radio Overtime as requested Lifting as required Constant head and neck movement Health and Safety Responsibilities Compliance with Occupational safety sections of Act Must wear all designated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Must report all accidents and near misses to your Supervisor Back-up Duties: Perform other duties as required MYK62683JREstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
