Operations Manager

30 year old company manufacturing various industrial metal products including specialized screws and barrels.
Scope:
The operations manager is responsible for managing all operations related activities for a 30 million dollar facility. Direct reports include manufacturing planner, maintenance manager, purchasing manager, foremans, and safety manager. The position reports to the Business Manager.
Responsibilities:
Manage facility productivity, quality, safety, and efficiency.
Develop and manage controls to ensure company goals are met for the facility within budget.
Work with HR to hire, train, develop, and discipline employees to meet performance goals.
Display leadership and be actively involved in problem solving and continuous improvement.
Assist in creating facility performance objectives and strategy.
Responsible for achieving facility costs, productivity, and profit objectives.
Background / Requirements:
Five years experience managing operations.
College education or advanced degree desired.
Experience managing metrics and working with accounting.
Demonstrated success developing and training personnel to exceed company goals.
Demonstrated experience exceeding cost, productivity, and profit objectives.
Experience implementing lean and continuous improvement initiatives.
