The ideal candidate is an experienced, fast-learning, organized and productive Technical Writer
with both strong Agile Scrum and technical delivery support. The candidate will have a technical
understanding of Agile Software Development practices delivering deployable software in short
sprints. In this role, they will help transform a large organization to an Agile and innovative
team. They will have the opportunity to work as an integral part of an Agile Scrum team-a
highly productive team of seasoned technical professionals who thrive on supporting our
customer's mission and growth objectives-developing and delivering critical artifacts for team,
stakeholder, organization, and customer consumption. This position is responsible for ensuring
that all assigned work activities are performed in a timely and cost effective manner while
maintaining the highest quality of performance.
Functional Responsibility: Serves as the documentation leader on a Scrum team(s) and for
program activities, providing experienced project and/or task related document preparation,
editing, and quality assurance. Responsible for activities associated with delivery of
documentation associated with customer-defined systems and software projects such as user
manuals and operations manuals. Basic responsibilities include:
As a part of a Scrum team, writing, editing, and producing a variety of technical project documentation, reports, brochures, manuals and training material documentation for a wide range of uses, coordinating the display of graphics and the production of the material.
Ensuring documentation content is of high quality and conforms to standards.
Editing and improving existing documentation in line with project standards.
Ensuring effective document and file management across the project; managing project team documentation repository.
Experience with document structure and logic flow, as well as writing for non-technical audiences.
Experience relating to engineering and maintenance drawings and/or operational procedures to include the knowledge and ability to interpret, absorb and synthesize large quantities of
computer
system and application related information.
Excellent written and oral communications skills and must be able to effectively interface with SMEs and management of all levels.
Ability to work as a member of an active Scrum team developing technical documentation in parallel with software code development with frequent refactoring and tuning of artifacts
Strong collaboration skills
Ability to research and organize complex work steps in a concise and discernible manner.
Ability to manage multiple, potentially conflicting, assignments, while ensuring technical accuracy, adherence to documentation standards, and a timely delivery of all work products.
Providing relevant metrics that help the team see how they are doing.
Strengthening the presence of the team as an Agile centre of excellence.
Actively contributing to the organization Agile
community

Analyzing project-related problems and creating innovative solutions involving, scheduling, technology, methodology, tools and solution components.
Performing allocated work, providing advice and guidance, and resolving problems to meet objectives, and providing periodic performance reports, ensuring product quality and timeliness of efforts.
Developing new and refining existing technical writing processes to enhance quality and productivity.
Qualifications
Minimum required:
Due to US Government requirements, must be a U.S. Citizen, with or eligible for a Government security clearance
Excellent communication skills in English in written and spoken form

years of demonstrated technical writing experience
Strong written and oral communications skills
Expert in Microsoft Word, including template design and macro functionality
Knowledge of document and repository management practices
Strong attention to detail and collaboration skills.
Ability to interface with various groups as well as work independently
Strong contextual understanding of technical terminology and extensive technical vocabulary
Strong software development background, with a minimum of one (1) solid year experience in incremental software development projects using an Agile Scrum approach
Understanding of all elements of the software development life cycle, including planning, development, requirements management, CM, quality assurance, and release management
Highly responsible, team-oriented individual with very strong communication skills and work ethic; self-starter
Professional
Experience: 3
years related experience
Desired:
College degree (B.A.; B.S.; M.A.; M.S.; PhD.) in a related discipline.
Experience with desktop publishing, automated work processing and other digital information technology applications; particularly World Wide Web publishing.
Experience with XML and/or SGML or other modular technical manual delivery
vehicles
Experience developing technical documentation in short iterations
Ability to apply advanced principles, theories, and concepts, and contribute to the development of innovative principles and ideas.
Experience working on unusually complicated problems and providing solutions that are highly creative and ingenious, exhibiting ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness.
Periodically develops data which goes beyond existing boundaries of information in field.
Acts independently to expose and resolve problems.
