Role purpose:
Responsible for managing plant operations to meet product demand and quality requirements in a safe and cost efficient manner. Responsible for establishing a strong culture that delivers Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen behaviours. Interface with business teams and corporate planning to ensure site strategy is delivered versus business imperatives for sales and product introductions. include: Production Planner, Vendor Scheduler, a Packaging Engineer, two Team Lead (Engineer's), who, in turn, supervise 5 production supervisors and approximately 30 operators and up to 50 additional seasonal contract employees as needed.
Accountabilities:
- Health, Safety, & Environment (HSE): Ensure personnel are provided with the training, tools, and resources to operate safely, in a clean and hygienic environment, with procedures that demonstrate environmentally good stewardship.
- Quality: Deliver formulated & packed finished goods on-time and in-full at quality levels meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
- Lean: Provide clear leadership focus to deliver Lean Manufacturing (e.g. Kaizen, 5S, SMED, OEE, etc.) as a cultural value and way of operating at the Omaha Site. Create a sense of urgency in the way personnel think about eliminating waste and taking ownership of their activities at the Site.
- Financial: Deliver majority of site's fixed & variable budget targets. Will take an active leadership role in expense budgeting, product costing, new product evaluation, and asset efficiency control & optimization.
- Direct Leadership - Set Clear Direction: Production Planner, Vendor Schuler, two (2) Tem Lead (Engineer's), and a packaging engineer.
- Indirect Leadership - Communicate Clear Deliverables: Thirty (32) Operator 1's and 2's and up to fifty (50) seasonal contract employees.
- Ambassadorship: Ensure site strategy is clearly communicated and understood by key, external stakeholders (e.g. T&P, Brand/Product Management, Planning, etc.).
- Operating Budget: $10 m.
- Inventories: Raw Material & Packaging - $115 m, Technical Pesticides - $ 145 Million.
- Cost of Goods (CoGS): Optimization for 180 SKU's and supporting business cases for NPI's.
Knowledge, Skills &
Experience:
Critical knowledge: :
B.S. Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering. Chemical processing, formulation, packaging, material handling, safety awareness and emergency response. Broad knowledge in areas of quality assurance, gov't regulations, accounting & budgeting techniques, maintenance procedures, utilities, inventory control, shipping, warehousing, waste disposal, statistics and best engineering practices.
Critical Skills:
Supervising, training, motivating, planning, coordinating, delegating, decision-making, influencing, managing change, and communicating.
Critical
Experience:
5-10 years experience in plant operations and personnel management.
Critical Success Factors & Key Challenges:
- Developing personnel for future succession requirements.
- Ensure Operations personnel clearly understand site strategy and are challenged to deliver improved efficiencies and responsiveness as product complexity and volumes grow.
- Build a highly communicative, proactive and disciplined Operation's team to rapidly respond to business needs with strong adherence to quality and HSE standards while delivering optimum product cost to the customer.
- Ensure plant business/data systems are implemented to rapidly deliver information for root-cause analysis that can be used to drive strategic efficiency improvement targets.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing Principles (Kaizen, SMED, OEE, 5S, etc.) to deliver agile manufacturing.
- Lead first-line supervision to achieve a focused, highly trained, self-motivated, and innovative workforce.
- Ensure training programs are administered effectively to achieve certification for job requirements and cross-training of skills for quality, and preventative maintenance.
- Ensure that personnel roles and policies are clearly defined, documented and communicated.
- Meet or exceed HSE targets by demonstrating leadership in all elements of Site's policies, programs, and compliance guidelines.
- Provide fixed/variable cost budgeting, control, and corporate reporting for operations.
- Support Engineering in evaluating capital spending needs for NPI's or asset optimization.
- Support Operations personnel with time and resources to participate in SAFARI behaviour based safety program.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
