The Regional Materials and Planning Manager will conduct all business related functions within the regional business unit inclusive two (2) manufacturing facilities to ensure effective processes are in place to support all production objectives. The span of control will include management of incoming materials, materials in offsite warehouses, and stock levels. The role will also have responsibility for production planning and scheduling to optimize capacity utilization and production efficiencies across the plants and have ultimate responsibility for the planning cycle. The role will also have shared responsibilities over shipping/receiving and material handling functions. The position will have 7 salaried direct reports, 2 shared salaried employees and more than 20 indirect hourly personnel.

This position will be responsible for all related objectives that will include:
Insuring a safe work environment with an objective of an accident free department, by utilizing the tools and initiatives provided, and creatively utilizing department colleagues to identify and fix potential Safety issues.
Directing and Managing performance and priorities of team members
Meeting financial objectives for the department including on time delivery, lead time, working capital levels, etc.
Driving and creating standardized repeatable processes that insure effective production support.
Standardizing Way of Working for materials and planning between the plants
Driving and streamlining planning and scheduling processes to meet all scheduling requirements and insure proper inventory levels for all business segments within the business unit.
Developing all departmental employees, including long term development of salaried direct reports for future succession.
Interacting seamlessly with purchasing, production, logistics, internal and external sales colleagues to ensure customer requirements are met

Requirements:
Minimum of 8 years of Planning/Scheduling/Materials experience in a manufacturing leadership role including some time in a multi-plant environment.
Bachelor?s degree in a related field such as Business Management or Supply Chain Management, and be able to think strategically, and demonstrate strong interactive leadership skills.
Solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing and techniques such as 5-S, SMED, Kanban, Poke Yoke, Visual Manufacturing, etc. Exposure and experience in Six Sigma; i.e., Green Belt certification a plus.
A strong working knowledge of shop floor reporting systems and expertise in leveraging the planning capabilities of SAP across multiple plants. The candidate should be able to build knowledge in the team of the SAP system and drive standardization across the plants.
Possess proactive and clear communication skills as a key member of the business unit leadership, with decisive nature to tackle challenges head on.
Must offer the ability to build a strong network within the business unit and across business units in the region.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to utilize data as a part of their decision making process. The candidate should have the ability to utilize data as a part of their root cause problem solving skills and be able to have a hands-on approach to the role including frequent interaction in the production environment.
Must possess strong team building skills, and the ability to engage the employees to perform at high level in their work areas. They will possess the ability to effectively build a strong accountability culture and possess change management skills.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to establish strong supplier/customer partnerships that benefit the plant objectives.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
