Description:
Specific Duties:
Manage accountants including the assignment of duties, review of work, and performance evaluations. Responsible for timely closing of monthly books and records. This includes directing the closing process, making journal entries, reconciling balances, and ensuring accuracy by reviewing financial statements, investigating account variations and verifying account balances. Prepare monthly financial reports as deemed useful and informative to management on a timely basis. Direct year-end closing process including setting appropriate deadlines for those within and outside of the Accounting Department , preparing and reviewing audit schedules, preparing financial statements and footnotes, answering auditors questions, and resolving problems. Research applicable accounting standards to ensure compliance in recording and reporting of transactions per requirements. Work with other departments when Accounting information or skills are needed to support ongoing efforts of the Company. Enforce, support, and seek to enhance the internal controls of the Company. Maintain CPA license, including attending appropriate continuing education
classes
. Participate in special projects individually or as part of a cross functional team. Perform backup duties for the Controller as needed.
Requirements and
Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Master s degree preferred CPA license or foreign equivalent
A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience
2 years public accounting experience Preferred public accounting experience within the last 5 years
A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience
Experience with accounting principles and practices
Must possess organizational and analytical skills
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Requires the ability to travel domestically up to 20% of the time
Requires a valid driver s license and a favorable motor vehicle report
Intermediate Microsoft Word skills Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including the ability to create pivot tables, v-lookups or graphs is preferred
SAP knowledge preferred
Big 4 accounting experience is a plus
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
