Seeking strong individual contributor to provide leadership guidance for well-established Power Generation
services
group.

The Rotating Machinery Specialist is to provide
engineering
support and oversight in areas specific to electric rotating machinery, especially electric generators and large motors. You will function as the key Rotating Machinery Engineer on assigned projects and provide overall project planning, coordination and supervision of project and consulting activities. You will be required to interface with clients, other company departments, outside consultants, contractors, suppliers, and manufacturers on technically related matters. Serve as Lead Engineer or technical reviewer on assigned projects.

Primary
Responsibilities:
Subject matter expert providing technical leadership for the department in all areas of electrical generators and large industrial motors.
Act as Lead Engineer on power plant projects especially focused on generator and motor replacements, rebuilds, re-windings and trouble shooting.
Develop and interpret complex plans and specifications and apply available information to ensure that all project requirements are satisfied.
Develop and review project plans and schedules for successful completion
Maintain familiarity and participate in development/revision of protection systems and electric machines industry standards and guides as well as IEEE, NEMA, and ANSI standards.
Develop and review purchase specifications for electrical generators and motors.
Checking completed job for adequacy of design and documentation.
Perform complex economic analyses of engineering alternatives.
Be familiar with the company's drawing system and design and construction standards as well as applicable industry codes and practices.
May assist in the professional development, training, and evaluation of department personnel.

Position Requirements:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
BS degree in Electrical Engineering and 10 years related experience with electrical generators and motor as well as power plant electrical systems and equipment is required. Master's Degree and a PE License preferred.
Prior experience as a Rotating Machinery Specialist with a Manufacturer or Utility is preferred.
Demonstrate an understanding of power systems, generators, excitation systems and motor application.
Demonstrate an understanding of the rebuild/rewiring of electrical generators and motors.
Demonstrate an understanding of the dynamics of electric rotating machinery.
Be familiar with major generator and motor manufacturers and products.
Must have good PC skills and experience with Adobe and Microsoft programs.
Work well as both a leader of technical team and participate as a member.
Willing to work flexible hours, overtime and be available for out-of-town travel.

US citizenship or U.S. permanent resident status required.
