This
position
is responsible for the installation, administration, configuration, security, customization, performance tuning and troubleshooting of:
1. WebSphere Application Server (WAS)
2. IBM HTTP Server
NOTE: This position also involves heavy interaction with JAVA developers and also will be involved in establishing standards and guidelines for WAS/Portal/WCM related solutions. There should be strong familiarity with SUN Solaris or Oracle Solaris operating system. This position will have heavy collaboration with other middleware technologies such as Oracle Access
manager
, MicroStrategy, Informatica and LDAP.
TECHINCAL BACKGROUND:
WebSphere application server technical background with either Solaris or Unix experience. Preference would be Solaris, but we will consider a candidate who has either Solaris or Unix.
Experience supporting production application server infrastructure running java based applications.
Technical knowledge around troubleshooting java applications and WebSphere application server.
Deep and current knowledge of SUN systems.
MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE IN THE FOLLOWING:
1. Correct technical problems within defined SLAs.
2. Analyze root cause and permanently correct. Document incidents.
3. Configure and maintain supported applications systems using industry best practices.
4. Secure servers/applications.
5. Monitor server/application performance.
6. Ensure application configurations are backed up according to business needs.
7. Devise and implement solutions that enhance monitoring capabilities or automate manual processes.
8. Have knowledge and experience in scripting in an SUN environment.
9. Follow defined change management process.
10. Transfer technical knowledge to others.

SKILL EQUIVALENCY:
We will consider someone who is really strong in either Jboss or Weblogic (other application servers) in lieu of Websphere Application Server.
WORKING HOURS/CONDITIONS:
Must be able to work a flexible schedule. May be required to work Sunday through Thursday. Will be required to work overtime when needed. If required, can get to the office within 1 hour of being called.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
