The Role
This position provides strategic leadership to achieve key business objectives for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility to strengthen relationships with Lincoln's key internal and external business partners.
Responsibilities
Strategy

Provides executive, strategic and thought leadership to the Distribution Gateway teams under his/her area of responsibility for our key internal and external business partners by creating performance goals and objectives to achieve key business results for the various lines of business as shown below:
-- Institutional Support - strengthen relationships with Institutions through operational support to Life and MoneyGuard business. Serves as the single point of operational contact with Broker Dealers, Banks and Independent planning firms for Insurance Solutions products.
-- MGA Support - strengthen relationships with MGA Strategic Firms through pro-actively reaching out to firms to understand how they do business and how we can make it easier for them to do business with Lincoln.
-- Strategic Sales Liaison/Relationships - Strengthen key relationships with internal and external Distribution partners in all channels (Wholesale, Retail, Employer). Leads Partner Solutions efforts on initiatives with Distribution impact.
-- Product Liaison -strengthen relationships with Lincoln's Product areas. Understand Product strategic direction, challenges and opportunities and shares this understanding across Partner Solutions and vice versa. Leads Partner Solutions efforts on product initiatives ensuring optimal participation across Partner Solutions in Product Work Groups.
-- Distribution Communication - Develops communications with internal and external partners regarding Partner Solutions' operational capabilities. Develops communications to Partner Solutions regarding Distribution initiatives and needs. Pro-actively identifies opportunities for better communication and operational support
-- Selling Agreements - Provides oversight for the administration and maintenance of selling and marketing agreements including maintenance of commission schedules. In partnership with the Legal and Compliance departments, ensures the appropriate legal agreements are in place to enable our Distribution Partners to sell Lincoln products.

Develops and drives the strategic vision for the Distribution Gateway functional area through the development and building of relationships with key internal and external distribution and business partners.
Execution

Leads, establishes and implements priorities, performance goals and objective to achieve key business results for Distribution Gateway.

Guides and evaluates department performance and takes appropriate action to meet and/or exceed performance standards for Distribution Gateway.

Leads and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change
management
and/or the organization for all areas of Distribution Gateway.

Leads the identification, development, and implementation of strategic process improvements that significantly reduce workloads or improve quality across the team, business unit, and/or the organization which will enhance the Producer experience.

Builds organizational capabilities within Distribution Gateway by leading the management of his/her resources for optimum performance and output. Maximizes the development opportunities across a diverse talent pool by including stretch assignments and providing open and honest feedback to aid in the development of talent. Incorporates robust development plan that are pursued with discipline.

Assumes responsibility for all budget planning
Leadership

Hires and retains top talent.

Develops and maintains key relationships across business units to drive enterprise results, seeks win/win solutions when business units priorities and external partners priorities conflict.

Develops, strengthens and manages key relationships with internal and external Distribution partners in all channels internal and external to Lincoln.

Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for Distribution Gateway, assess the impact, and collaborates with executive/senior management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future strategies.

Educational


4 Year/Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelors)
Master's degree in Business Administration preferred.
Experience


12
years of experience in marketing, sales and/or relationship management within the financial services industry, including knowledge of operations within a compliance and regulatory environment.

years of management, strategy, and influencing senior management/critical stakeholders experience

Deep understanding of key drivers/levers of business

In-depth understanding of distribution (e.g. agents, firms, banks, Managing General Agents) compensation structure/components

Demonstrates the ability to manage multiple departments and/or a function, leadership knowledge has expanded in depth and breadth and leadership knowledge is leveraged to develop strategic plans with a broad, long term perspective, knowledge is expanding appropriately with job responsibilities.

Demonstrated success in leading the development of creative, innovative and collaborative approaches to driving for solutions and developing/executing complex strategies.

A demonstrated track record of consistently meeting and/or exceeding performance expectations

Possesses a bias for action and avoids workplace distractions

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
