I. BASIC FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
To apply knowledge of and experience with
engineering
principles and techniques to develop highly complex specifications and procedures, develop and analyze designs, and evaluate technical reports.
II. PRIMARY DUTIES AND
Responsibilities: (Duties and responsibilities which occupy a major portion of time and importance in the job. Incumbent(s) perform one or more of the following duties.)
1. Conducts research concerned with design, manufacture and test of components, equipment and systems, including application of equipment to new uses.
2. Creates and analyzes highly complex engineering designs. Negotiates engineering and/or design requirements with customer representatives.
3. Analyzes and prepares documentation of complex engineering designs. Ensures that drawings are corrected so that products are in accordance with proper engineering techniques and specifications.
4. Analyzes activities concerned with installation and operational test of complex engineering designs to ensure conformance with functional specifications and customer requirements. May develop special test methods or fixtures to support developmental testing.
5. Analyzes operational systems and recommends design modifications to eliminate causes of malfunction or changes in system requirements.
6. Maintains liaison with customer or contractor representative to review, monitor and evaluate conformity to project task specifications and project schedules. Prepares status and progress reports and periodically briefs customer representatives on the program or project status.
7. Maintains awareness of Company's competitive position in speciality area and assists upper management in identifying potential new products or business as well as defining program requirements. Prepares proposals and presentations.
8. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
Required Skills: 12 years' directly related experience with nuclear surety. (10 years' with MS degree). At least 6 years' progressive responsibility in providing technical leadership.
