Plans, analyzes and reports on an area of General Accounting (GA).
Develops processes to maximize efficiency and control through process design and proper controls complying with the U.S. Accounting Guidelines and BMW Group Guidelines.
Leads projects to implement process change and participate on project teams with ability to evaluate impact to GA. Analyzes and maintains related General Ledgers (G/L) accounts to minimize financial risk.
Ensures timely recording of financial transactions, completes month-end close activities and reviews financial statement accuracy for group reporting.
Communicates with other departments, affiliates, vendors and customers to resolve open issues.
Represents GA department in system upgrades, identifies issues, evaluates impact and test changes to avoid interruptions to GA production.
Designs metric program for reporting to management and creates countermeasures for targets not met.
Prepares data for internal/external audit and answers audit questions appropriately.
Makes presentations and communicates Accounting subject matter to small/large audiences consisting of all levels of management.
II. Position Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
o Assists BMW Group Section Manager, Accounting with the management of the GA area using proper accounting controls, record retention and tax rules to maintain adequate control and compliance.
o Analyzes G/L accounts and financial reporting identifying financial risks and opportunities.
o Manages day-to-day-activities, performing assigned tasks in a timely and accurate manner including the resolution of vendor, customer and affiliate issues.
o Evaluates, formulates and implements strategy to revise/create processes ensuring compliance with Accounting and group guidelines.
o Leads or participates on cross-functional and internal projects evaluating impact to GA and to achieve positive results for GA.
o Serves as liaison with affiliates and maintains a cohesive relationship to ensure a balanced financial position.
o Designs metrics and monthly reporting for management, indicative of problem areas needing improvement. Develops and implement s countermeasures to provide continuous improvement.
o Provides planning and forecast data to management.
o Completes month end tasks timely, verifying accuracy of financial data for group reporting.
o Provides support for annual audits, government and tax reporting.
o Represent s GA department in system upgrades, identifies/evaluates impact and test changes to avoid interruptions to GA production upon implementation.
o Adheres to BMW Group training schedule.
Performs other duties as assigned by BMW Group Operations Supervisor.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
