Camp Christopher Maintenance Worker Shift: Various Shifts Experience Level: None Education: Associate's Degree Basic Function: Under minimal supervision, maintain Camp Christopher's equipment, buildings, and grounds in a clean, orderly, operating, and functional condition. Perform related operational and maintenance activities.
Responsibilities:- Under direction, ensure that the activities of this position and relevant programs are consistent with the mission, vision, and values of the Secretariat for Catholic Charities Health and Human
services
. - Maintain grounds by operating equipment such as mower, tractor, snowplow, weed eater, chain saw etc. in a safe and efficient manner. May operate heavy equipment such as backhoe, trencher, etc. - Keep accurate inventory of tools and supplies, records of repairs, records of performed maintenance, costs, etc. Advise supervisor of necessary repairs or corrective actions, and provide maintenance updates. - Perform routine and minor to intermediate maintenance and
repair
(plumbing, electrical, painting, heating etc.) toward efficient operation of Camp Christopher, equipment, surrounding grounds or
vehicles
using standard practices or instructions. Identify situations where repair and/or maintenance may be more appropriately completed by outside contractors and recommend findings to supervisor. - Assist in the refurbishing and remodeling of cabins and other buildings in a cost efficient manner. - Perform custodial work by cleaning buildings, cleaning bathrooms, dispose of trash, sweep and mop floors etc - Assist in the checking in and out of outside group users. - Complete duties using safe work habits and provide for the safety of other personnel while performing repairs and maintenance. - Perform other duties as necessary to accomplish objectives. Requirements:- Combination of education and experience normally represented by a High School Diploma or equivalent, plus technical training in one or more specialized areas with at least 3 years of related work experience. - A verified safe driving record in the State of
ohio
with no greater than four (4) points, and provide a copy of license. - Experience with power equipment and hand tools. - Must have competent working knowledge of moderately complex plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, roofing, mechanics, masonry, HVAC, etc. - Must be able to life/carry up to 50 pounds unassisted - Must have good oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills. - Must be flexible and able to handle multiple tasks at one time. - Must be able to work independently. - Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and/or possess other comparable
computer
