Database Developer - Permanent Job Database Developer needed for a direct hire opportunity with Yoh's client located in Trevose, PA. The Big Picture - Top Skills You Should Possess: - SQL Server - Database Development What You'll Be Doing: - This is a MS SQL Database Developer position working as a member of a development team on our flagship product to create new features and improve scalability. - Data flows through our systems from a variety of sources to build a strong clear view of travel information. Understanding how these different pieces of data interact is key to troubleshooting and managing the system as it grows and evolves. The Database Developer will not only manage the database technology, but also tend the data and it's unique relationships. - The Database Developer will manage the T-SQL database objects, including Tables, Procedures, Functions, Views, etc. This process includes managing DVCS repositories, reviewing changes and working with the team to follow good design patterns and best practices. Code quality and maintainability are important as these are long term projects that must continue to be supportable for many years. - The Database Developer is responsible for helping to maintain performance. Overall System Performance as well as Database Performance must be reviewed, isolated and optimized. The database performance is monitored in production and through regular application testing using a variety of tools. The results are reviewed and any potential issues diagnosed, tested and repaired before the next release. What You Need to Bring to the Table: - Experience with the following: - SQL Server Database Management. - Transact SQL Optimization. - Unit Testing. - Distributed Version Control. - Database Development following Best Practices and Patterns. - SSIS Package Development. - Index Management. - Troubleshooting and resolving database problems. - Working in an Agile development environment. - Education:
