Responsibilities:- Under direction, ensure that the activities of this position and relevant programs are consistent with the mission, vision, and values of the Secretariat for Catholic Charities Health and Human Services and Catholic Charities Services Corporation. - Maintain an atmosphere of care, comfort, and safety for children who attend the day care center. - Ensure that the classroom is setup with defined learning areas and provides a safe, healthy classroom environment that is arranged to support independence. - Supervise children at all times and maintain child/staff ratios in accordance to state and federal requirements. - Establish and follow a consistent daily routine that meets the needs of all children. - Maintain a safe classroom environment, which includes monthly fire drills and quarterly disaster drills. - Write lesson plans that align the

Early Learning Content Standards with the Curriculum and Performance Standards and are individualized for each child. - Develop lesson plans and age appropriate group activities. - Conduct classroom, learning, social, and language skills in pre-kindergarten areas such as the alphabet, numbers, address and telephone numbers, print name, and follow directions; and develop large and small muscle skills. - Teach, introduce, or guide children in the performance of personal hygiene, safety, manners, eating, resting, toilet training. - Compile and maintain various record keeping forms and progress reports. - Record ongoing observation of children, write anecdotal notes. - Keep accurate attendance and meal counts as per Ohio Department of Job and Family Services and Child and Adult Care Food Program guidelines. - Conduct two (2) parent-teacher conferences for each child. - Complete ongoing assessment of all children including those with special needs. - Plan and execute various strategies to help troubled and special needs children. - Sit, eat with and socialize with the children throughout daily routine including meal and snack times. - Greet children and families at the door at arrival and departure times. - Attend to child/children when an emergency arises and administer first aid and CPR as necessary. - Report and record any signs of illness or injury, write up an incident report, and submit it as appropriate within 24 hours of the incident. - Combination of experience and education normally represented by an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education and from one to two years of related experience. - Current certification in First Aid and CPR (infant, child and adult), Child Abuse Recognition, and Communicable Disease Recognition or attained within six (6) months from date of hire. - Must complete 15 hours of training a year up to 45 hours acquired. An additional 4 hours in language and literacy is required each year thereafter. - Physical examination by a licensed physician required. - Must be able to effectively and productively work with people of very diverse economic, cultural and administrative backgrounds. - Must be well organized, detail oriented and the ability to maintain confidentiality. - Must have a good working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office software. - Must have competent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. - Lifting and carrying up to 30pounds required. - Must be able to actively interact with preschool children by being able to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat and reach above head. - Final applicant is required to be fingerprinted to complete background check. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
