Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Supplier Quality
manager
to:
Supervise and lead a team of Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) professionals; lead SQE monthly meeting.
Demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement through leadership of key strategic initiatives; One-Company participation
Promote and manage improvement activities (ACE) within the MCL and MCL supply base.
Provide technical and quality process leadership in the areas of metallurgical/chemical quality controls within P&W; MCL supply base.
Ensure Supplier Qualifications are properly managed and ensure that an environment of continuous improvement is fostered.
Review/approve supplier quality surveillance and product reviews.
Actively lead root cause and corrective action investigations into supplier escapes and non-conformances; lead monthly Corrective Action Board (CAB) meeting.
Oversee implementation of Engineering Source Approval (ESA) processes.
Become an approved member of the Material Review Board (MRB) and actively participate in non-conforming material dispositions.
Lead the implementation of the metallurgical/chemical quality controls as specified by purchase orders, blueprints and the Material Control Laboratory manual.
Manage Supplier Risk Tool structure within supply base and ensure P&W; MCL s quality objectives are fulfilled.
Support cost reduction and supplier rationalization efforts ensuring quality objectives and improvements are obtained.
Bachelor degree in Engineering.
Minimum qualifications include 10
years of industry experience in metallurgical/chemical processing and/or quality control for aerospace applications. The ideal candidate has a combination of both experiences.
Additionally, the candidate should have a fundamental understanding of quality controls and/or testing for raw materials, finished parts and special processes (i.e. heat treat, brazing, welding, plasma sprays, surface treatment, etc.). Other desired skills/experiences include supplier quality audits and understanding quality procedural controls.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are needed to manage a demanding supply chain both internally and externally.
This
position
is a supervisory position for a team of Supplier Quality Engineers (SQEs) and reports to the Chief of the Quality and Standards Laboratories (Q&SL;). The focus region will be on Europe and and some East Coast suppliers in the U.S.
Both domestic and international travel is required; 5-10%.
The position is based in East Hartford, CT.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
