Southern Nuclear Operating Company (SNC), headquartered in Birmingham, AL, operates Southern Company's six nuclear reactors at three locations in
georgia
and
alabama
: two reactors at Plant Vogtle, near Waynesboro, GA; two reactors at Plant Hatch, near Baxley, GA; and two reactors at Plant Farley, near Dothan, AL. In addition, construction activities are underway for two new reactors at our Plant Vogtle location.
We currently have an opportunity located at our corporate headquarters in Birmingham, AL for an Engineer, Lead. This position will function within our Fleet Design Engineering department.
Southern Nuclear Operating Company's corporate Fleet Design Engineering Department provides governance, oversight and support for design activities for the Southern Nuclear Fleet. We are seeking an individual capable of providing leadership and oversight to station counterparts for implementing fleet, engineering and design process and best practices in the design functional area. The mission of the Design Engineering Functional Area is to provide technical conscience and leadership by ensuring physical and configuration changes to design are of high quality, are budgeted, planned, scheduled and implemented in a cost effective manner. The position is located at the SNC Corporate Office in Inverness (Birmingham, AL) and will require up to approximately 25% travel.
This position will be responsible for providing oversight and direction to appropriate site counterparts for design execution, standardization, as well as driving standards, behaviors and accountability, developing and managing procedural guidance, ensuring outage success and providing subject matter expertise. This Fleet Design position is responsible for ensuring site counterparts are executing design in a manner commensurate with industry excellence. Additionally, this position will be called upon to provide coaching and mentoring to less experienced station personnel, while maintaining their primary function of governance and oversight.
Position may be required to support fleet Emergency Response Organization. This requires personnel to live within one hour of the SNC ERO facility for emergency response availability.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education Requirements:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechnanical (or equivalent) field of Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university is required
Professional Engineer license is preferred.
A Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) license is desired.
Experience Requirements:
Previous Nuclear Power Plant design experience is desired.
Strong knowledge of applicable discipline design codes and requirements is desired.
Working knowledge of regulatory requirements regarding commercial nuclear power plant design is desired.
Strong knowledge of electrical analysis and/or controls is desired.
At least 5 years of experience in the above areas is desired.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
