Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced college level professional to join our sustainability team and support the Zappos Sustainability Manager on projects relating to reducing the environmental impact of Zappos' operations. The internship is expected to last eight weeks and will be in downtown Las Vegas.

Responsibilities:
Support projects that focus on energy, water, recycling, supply chain, green building operations, and outreach
Assess Zappos' office recycling and composting program
Develop internal (employee facing) and external (social media) communications related to sustainability
Review Zappos' private label apparel supply chain operations and exposure to risk
Calculate Zappos' carbon footprint from shipping activities and work with partners to create strategies to reduce carbon emissions
Observe Zappos' campus operations and make recommendations on how the building and occupants can improve based on LEED EBOM guidelines
Work closely with the Zappos Campus Operations and Development team on internal construction projects

Qualifications:
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in architecture, engineering, planning, building operations, environmental science, or allied field
LEED Accredited Professional desired
Ability to read, understand and interpret floor plans, elevations, sections, site plans, zoning maps, furniture plans, finish schedules, construction specifications and operational policies
Ability to prepare and deliver oral presentations to team members, clearly and effectively communicating complex ideas
Strong financial analysis, writing skills and technical publishing ability
Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Ability to work well both independently and on a team
A self-starter, detail-oriented and well organized
Passion for innovation, creativity, and sustainability
A sense of humor

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
