We are seeking an assertive, organized, self-motivated individual to assist us in making our vision a reality.
The Sustainable Materials Manager will:
Work closely with the Product Development / Innovation team, Procurement / Sourcing team and Sustainability Director to execute and deliver more sustainable materials to our portfolio
Work directly with external parties to ensure that we are at the forefront of understanding what new materials could be brought to market
Develop processes to ensure we bring sustainable materials to the market in a cost effective and timely manner
Generate the appropriate tools to document and communicate to the organisation all new products
Researching and developing sustainable solutions applicable to and with the intention of exceeding the expectations of the apparel and footwear market for POS Branding - specifically graphic tags, fasteners and packaging
Working in direct partnership with external parties to ensure we are bringing the latest and greatest sustainable solutions to the market
The management of our lifecycle analysis tool (Avery Dennison(TM) Greenprint) from an RBIS perspective; working closely with the Greenprint tool administrator
Coordinate communication of sustainable product offerings to both external and internal parties

A minimum of five years industrial product / material development experience
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with cross-functional business teams within our global network and with external parties
Strong project management skills
An ability to utilize a multitude of IT software programs and platforms
A strong knowledge of appropriate environmental legislation and accreditation
A basic understanding of lifecycle analysis; able to communicate the basic tenets of lifecycle analysis to both internal and external stakeholders
A strong eye for detail throughout the process, execution and delivery of our sustainable solutions
A passion to excel and challenge the opportunities that sustainable materials may bring
An understanding of retail needs in regards to appearance, functionality and supply chain
Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with others on projects
Demonstrated leadership and initiative
