Marin County San Rafael, CA Stationary Engineer Full-Time Department of Public Works $5,873 - $6,404/month The Marin County Human Resources Department and the Marin County Department of Public Works are announcing a recruitment for the position of Stationary Engineer. There is one full-time vacancy available. This position is responsible for the maintenance and repair of a large variety of equipment used in industrial plants and facilities and may provide work direction to staff on an assignment basis. Amongst other assignments, this position is expected to maintain and repair flood control and sewage pump stations, flood control pumps, natural gas and diesel generators and air conditioning systems. The ideal candidate has knowledge in and experience performing routine building operations and maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, construction and HVAC, and is capable of independently repairing and maintaining a wide variety of air conditioning systems. The candidate has experience leading staff on assignments, is effective in maintaining good public relations, dealing effectively with individuals of various ages and backgrounds, uses sound independent judgment within established procedural guidelines, and is knowledgeable regarding the safe operation of hand and power tools used in facility and equipment maintenance and repair. In addition, the candidate is capable of working independently for extended periods of time in remote locations, outdoors in any weather conditions and can work non-standard schedules, including evenings, nights and weekends. Qualifications: Typically, equivalent to four years of recent full-time progressively responsible experience in building maintenance/mechanical work and operation or in a related trade or craft which demonstrates possession of the knowledge and ability requirements listed in the class specification. CERTIFICATION: Possession of a universal EPA refrigerant certificate at time of application. The duties for this position may require travel to various locations within the County to fulfill the job responsibilities. When driving on County business, maintenance of a valid California driver's license and a satisfactory driving record is required. Filing Deadline: Friday, December 20, 2013 by 4pm. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
