WRITER Lamar Ledger is seeking a talented writer to cover local news, politics and events.
The right candidate will write quality, reliable, comprehensive and timely news articles that are both engaging and informative.
The reporter will be responsible for updating the Lamar Ledger's Website and social media sites regularly with their content and will also be responsible for photography for their stories.
The reporter will also participate in paper production and design for our Wednesday and Friday editions.
The reporter will be responsible for writing between three and five feature articles each year.
This job requires evening and weekend work.
The reporter will work on a 40 hour schedule every two weeks working approximately 20 hours each week.
This is a part time position with no benefits.
Occasionally the reporter will be called upon to work more than 40 hours in a two week cycle.
The Lamar Ledger is a twice weekly publication in Lamar Colorado.
The Lamar Ledger covers news throughout Lamar, Prowers County, the Arkansas River Valley and the southeast Colorado region.
Prior experience in the news industry is not a requirement but is preferred.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
